Philip has enjoyed school. He has come home happy every day. I am so thankful for those days. Maybe he really likes school or maybe the newest medicine wean is affecting him well. We might not have realized how much Triliptol was changing his behavior. On the other hand, I think I see some of the smaller seizures returning or increasing. I will talk to his doctor before we decrease another dose and get her opinion on continuing to wean. It is so hard to decide between the two "evils."
Philip had his speech and occupational therapy evaluations through Full Circle done today. They re-evaluate every year and change goals. Unfortunately because of regression, Philip's overall evaluation has not progressed. He had to have some goals added to make up ground. His speech therapist is still concerned about his swallowing ability. He is like most young boys and when he is hungry (which seems to be a lot these days), he stuffs his mouth with food then only chews a little and tries to swallow large amounts of food at one time. But with swallowing muscle problems, he gets choked and really just tries to swallow too big of pieces. We are working with him consistently at meal times. Please pray we can get all of the eating/drinking/swallowing issues resolved. We do thank you for your prayers. We are truly humbled by family and friends who care enough to not only read about Philip, but take his needs before the Father.
