Sometimes It's Takes a Storm
Jessica King
When your waters are so troubled,
you think you can’t go on at all.
Waves may seem like mountains,
when your boat is oh so small.
But somewhere past the clouds,
waits a new day to begin.
Sometimes it takes a storm,
to calm your storm within.
Sometimes it takes a storm,
to know you need a shelter.
When the anchors in your life,
disappear without a trace.
Sometimes the wind will rage,
before you sail calm waters.
Sometimes it takes a storm,
to find a hiding place.
They were drifting in the darkness,
the sea was all around.
They cried out to the master,
please save us or we'll drown.
Jesus heard the cries,
and mercy stilled the wind.
Sometimes it takes a storm,
to see the sun again.
Repeat
Sometimes the wind will rage,
before you sail calm waters.
Lord thank you for the storms,
for I've found my hiding place.
Oh thank you for the storms,
Lord you are my hiding place.
Well, now you see the inner struggle. Moving on to how we are doing!
Joyanna is doing much the same as she has been. The sores on her thumb and top of her foot are healed. The sore on the back of her foot just has a tiny scab and will be gone soon. We are waiting until it is completely healed before we try her regular brace again. We will trial it for an hour, then two hours and so on, seeing if it will cause the sore again. Please pray that it has been adjusted enough that we won’t see the wound again. The bone infusion went well, though I did learn that, despite having done 4-hour infusions for two years, three consecutive days of 4-hour infusions can really throw you off. We’ve all recovered from that. She just finished fall break (6 days off of school) and has returned to school since I updated last. The fall break fell perfectly during Alumni Homecoming Week at HBBC, so we were able to attend many of the evening activities and had fun. Joy was able to sleep in each morning, and Ethan and I slept in a little as well. He continued to do schoolwork while Joy was out, so she enjoyed joining us for school some days. We’re plugging along through kindergarten and it’s going great!
Her gait trainer is very close to being delivered. We actually thought we were getting it fitted on Tuesday, but there ended up being a miscommunication. All follow up doctor’s appointments recently have reported nothing of concern. Smooth sailing!
As of this month, we have not had an admission to the hospital for 2 full years. WOW! Of course, within that 2 years, Philip lived in The Children's Center for nine months, so if it hadn't been for their help, he would have been in the hospital much more often until he went to heaven. It’s all those things that continually make me thankful for all that TCC has done in our lives. I believe God is blessing there as they have received several grants and endowments recently, and are planning exciting new things for patients. I’m sure many of you have recognized through reading our posts how special that place is, and have joined with us in praying for them and the work they do.
Thank you for continuing to pray for us. Please pray that right now in calm waters, there wouldn’t be inner storms.
