“March comes in like a lion, goes out like a lamb.” I’m not sure where this saying originated but it hit the nail on the head this year in Oklahoma. Well, half of it, I guess. We actually haven’t seen the end of March so I’m not sure about that yet. The first of March was very lion-like—snow, cold, ice, wind! Brrrr! We’re starting to see pleasanter days now. When we had friends over last night, I said I would give one last hurrah to my snowman plates for dinner since I would probably put them away soon. Spring is just around the corner.
Joyanna is on spring break—a two-week spring break. We were trying to get some extra PT in at The Children’s Center but it doesn’t look like it’s going to work out. Oh, well, there’s plenty of time to rest and go at it again in two weeks. She will have her normal appointment next week. I’m trying to give her some variety in the days but it will never be like school I’m sure. My goal tomorrow or Friday is to take Joy and Ethan to the library and attempt a grocery trip. We’ll see how it goes. I don’t usually do a lot with getting her in and out of the van and the wheelchair but since she needs some activity, I decided I’m the one who needs to look beyond inconvenience and give it a go.
She’s getting an infusion today. She was very active and bright-eyed at the beginning but the Tylenol and Benadryl pre-meds finally had their way. She has been napping for a couple of hours now. She’s doing well. The congestion that had been lingering is almost gone now and her lungs sound great so praise the Lord for an infection avoided.
We had our Missions Conference at SWBC last week and that is always a spiritually refreshing time. Ethan really got into it for the first time and we worked together on knowing the missionaries who were coming and the country to which they were going. It was fun! Next week, Ben is really busy with College Days at HBBC. After that is spring break for the college so we look forward to it. Usually we put our garden in at the end of March so that is an exciting event to await.
We appreciate your continued prayers. We’re thankful for the calm we are experiencing right now. As each section of the journey makes itself known, God’s grace is exactly what we need to continue on! The beauty is that it’s not just for us, it’s for you too! May you accept His grace as you continue on your journey!
"I'm Blessed"
Written by Ricky Atkinson
Each day that I live, He gives more than I need
And I could never describe His goodness to me
If you ask how I make day after day
There is only one thing I can say
Chorus
It's been a long journey but I have been blessed
Walking with Jesus, I have no regrets
He is so good to me, and I must confess
The way has been long, but I'm blessed
All that I need I find at His feet
When I'm hungry, He feeds me with manna so sweet
When my soul is weary, He sends peace and rest
And all I can say is I'm blessed
Now I've had my share of sunshine and rain
Days filled with laughter and nights filled with pain
But with every mile as I travel this way
The journey gets sweeter each day
It's been a long journey but I have been blessed
Walking with Jesus, I have no regrets
He is so good to me, and I must confess
The way has been long, but I'm blessed
I'M BLESSED
So much more than I ever deserve
I'M BLESSED
He's been faithfully keeping His word
I'M BLESSED
I've been cleansed by the hand of the Lord
I'm blessed, I'm blessed, I'm blessed
It's been a long journey but I have been blessed
Walking with Jesus, I have no regrets
He is so good to me, and I must confess
The way has been long, but I'm blessed
