We have a fluid goal for her; it’s actually the same for Philip. They’re only 10 pounds apart, and she is more active. It will take a while to figure out how best to fit that goal into our daily routine. We’ve already found out we can’t do it when she is eating. Her stomach is full so the water goes in so slowly, it doesn’t work to do it then. So, other times of the day will fall into place by trial and error. It will all get into a workable routine eventually.
God sent me a special source of encouragement today. The driver that delivered Joyanna’s feeding supplies to the house shared with us that he and another co-worker have prayed for our family since they have delivered Philip’s supplies before. He said they pray for all the patients they deliver to. He shared a little about what God has done in his life and then prayed with Joyanna and me today before he left. If you’re reading this, thanks Henry, for letting the Lord use you to bring a fellow Christian a little encouragement. That was a special gift!
God sent Joyanna a special source of happiness today. She received balloons from family friends and has enjoyed them from the moment she saw them. She really likes the ones with butterflies and the one that says, "You are special!" Ethan has enjoyed them too. We reminded him all evening they were Joy's balloons because he would slowly inch away with them to use them for punching bags!
Make-A-Wish emailed us today with a start day of Saturday, September 10. The exciting news is that they plan to be done by September 20, only 10 days away from home. Our plan is to stay with Ben’s sister and her husband for those 10 days.
My friend, Anna, sang this song at church not too long ago. What a message! Those of you who have walked through dark days with the Lord will completely identify with this song. I’m still amazed He lets us know Him in such a personal way! Praise to the Lord!
NOW I KNOW HIM
Sue C. Smith, Tony Wood, and Joseph Habedank
I have known Him in the best of times
When every day was nothing but sunshine
And His blessings were my daily bread
It was true, I knew Him then and yet
Now I know Him
As my Shelter in the rain,
Yes, now I know Him
As my Shepherd through the pain
He is dear when life is easy
But in heartache, so much more
And now I know Him
Like I never have before
If my faith had not been tested by the flames
How could I have known these depths of grace,
‘Cause what is trust until it’s proven true
When I see the valleys He has brought me through
Now I know Him as the Healer of my heart
Yes, now I know Him
The Hand that led me through the dark
He is dear when life is easy,
But in heartache, so much more
And now I know Him
Like I never have before
