Philip Nathanael Logue was born on December 17, 2009. Nearly from the beginning, he was a content little boy. When he was 3 1/2 months old he had his first surgery—the beginning of many hospital stays, surgeries, doctor appointments and therapy sessions! However, as you have seen, or will see, from the pictures, his spirit through each of these events was calm and happy. The only exception to this was when he couldn’t eat, then he would get rather grumpy—he really did love his food. He also loved spending time with his family, listening to music, singing, spinning, pinwheels, the moon, flags and buses.
His consistent demeanor earned him a nickname, “Braveheart,” which really characterizes his attitude toward all the difficulties that life brought. However, his courage, patience and contentment did not come just from himself; many times there was nothing to do but marvel at the peace that God provided him in the midst of many physical challenges. Without question, this peace was a result of the many friends, family, and church members who prayed for him on a regular basis. The prayers of God’s people enabled Philip to live out God’s plan for his life with a grace that is difficult to comprehend.
For the last 9 months he lived at the Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital in Bethany, OK, and received care from many doctors, nurses, and others for whom (while he couldn’t have said it audibly) he was extremely thankful. Last Saturday morning, August 25, 2018, at about 3:00am his physical body took one last breath, and he instantly became perfectly whole in the very presence of God.
