I don't have long to update but I really wanted to put something on. Philip finished school with little fanfare and the summer has begun. It took a few days for us all to get adjusted to him being back home but, once again, we have a new normal. It involves a little more fighting over toys and books but all in all it's gone pretty smoothly.
We have had pretty good days for the last few weeks. He still continues to have trouble going to sleep but, of course, that has become normal. I'm pretty sure Joyanna can sleep through anything now. She's in the same room with him and it amazes me how she can sleep through his wind down. If some of you have wondered why we haven't tried more measures to help him sleep, most all of them are counter-productive. If we rock him, he will just wake up when we move and start all over again. If we let him sleep with us, he wakes up too easily and starts all over again. Then, we don't sleep either. We've found the best way to get him to sleep all night is just let him do his wind down and then he sleeps pretty well the rest of the night. We have tried some lavendar essential oil my sister-in-law sent and it seems to help him at times.
Of course, we still don't have a date to begin the diet. I would have posted almost immediately had we scheduled it. My brother called to get an update and I liked his sentiment. We should change the prayer of the 2-3 miracle to actually start the diet in 2-3 months. :) Some levity is always appreciated.
On that note, I'll leave you with this image. We think it's funny that Philip is the only one happy in this picture, the one with more problems than either of the other two. HA!
