We’ll be able to decorate some shelves in his area so that we can personalize his new space—but we’ll probably wait to do that until later in the day Tuesday or later that week; I’m sure we’ll make plenty of trips next week as he gets settled in. Please pray for grace and peace in this very big step. I know many of you have been praying daily since you heard about it. Thank you!
Joyanna did not have her infusion on Wednesday. We are still working through the insurance change. We planned tentatively to have it tomorrow (Friday) but that is not going to work out either. We’ll try for Monday but we’ll just have to take it day by day to see where God opens doors and closes them. It’s a familiar place to be—where we have no control over what is to be—but each time we make it to this place, we seem to know a little more easily there is One Who is completely in control. May that fact guide us and give peace and grace as we wait. The nurse called about immediate side effects of suspending the treatment but there really are none thankfully. They said she might just be a little more tired.
She is actually having a pretty good week. She is moving her hand to her mouth or nose, trying to chew on her fingers, moving her lips together when helped to make a kissing sound, sticking her tongue out and sometimes licking her lips. She is also holding her head up a little better this week. Last week, I was putting her hair up when she said, “OW.” I could tell it was “OW” so I commented on it. Then, it was like she realized she could actually say it and started saying it just because!! We laughed together about “OW.” Please pray for peace as we wait!
Sometimes He Calms the Storm
All who sail the sea of faith
Find out before too long
How quickly blue skies can grow dark
And gentle winds grow strong
Suddenly fear is like white water
Pounding on the soul
Still we sail on knowing
That our Lord is in control
Chorus
Sometimes He calms the storm
With a whispered, “Peace be still.”
He can settle any sea
But it doesn't mean He will.
Sometimes He holds us close
And lets the wind and waves go wild
Sometimes He calms the storm
And other times He calms His child
He has a reason for each trial
That we pass through in life
And though we're shaken
We cannot be pulled apart from Christ
No matter how the driving rain beats down
On those who hold to faith
A heart of trust will always
Be a quiet peaceful place
Chorus
