However, he's skipping today. He seems to have gotten a cold and last night was running a low temperature so we kept him home today. I was bracing myself for sickness like in February but he wasn't running a fever this morning and seems to be doing fine, just sneezing and a little congested. Thinking he would once again have trouble drinking, I have been keeping him drinking water this morning. In my mind, if I got him well-hydrated now he could weather a little more time when he couldn't drink. When I laid him down at nap, I changed a very full diaper. :) It seems we'll be okay this time.
Today, Ben and I will meet with his teacher and new therapists at school. We will give them a "brief" :) rundown of his history and answer any questions they may have.
We have talked with his epileptologist about starting the ketogenic diet. He is one of 5 on the waiting list to begin when OU Children's starts their diet program. The doctor thinks it will be early summer. We'll have more details as we know them. If you have questions about the diet, go to www.charliefoundation.org. You can't always trust everything you find if you just do a web search. Ben has found some useful information that we will probably post as we get closer. We are excited to give Philip this chance through the diet.
