“But You’re four days late,
And all hope is gone.
Lord, we don’t understand
Why You waited so long.
But His ways are God’s ways,
Not yours or mine.
So isn’t it great,
When He’s four days late,
He’s right on time.”
I still don’t know the outcome and if it will be what we’d like, but His ways are God’s ways! There is certainly nothing impossible to Him. Yes, healing either of my children or giving my weak heart strength to walk a long journey beyond what I think possible. It’s all His work! And either way He can get the glory, as well. I might say, “Lord, You’re 4 months late!” But, God’s way is perfect and He’s right on time.
Joyanna is on an up week. But I’m learning to be ready for next week. Not dismissing the good days but preparing myself not to nosedive on the bad ones. I wish my emotions wouldn’t ride the roller coaster with her abilities. You can pray for me in that way.
Philip is out of school. He’s been a little more congested this week but okay overall. Processes are still moving forward to establish home health care for him. We should have that in place within a month I would think.
My husband works at the college during the summer but the pace is much slower. They have one last conference happening right now then a couple of months of “summer.” He will have some weeks of vacation and we plan to enjoy those. Of course, we’re hoping to have a surgery scheduled in there. We’ve told some folks, “If you hear that Joyanna is having surgery, that’s the one time that it is good news.” We have a garden again this summer to grow our beloved tomatoes and green beans. The first tomatoes are about to ripen and the bean plants are steadily growing. My husband always puts out flowers now too. He knows how much I love to cut them and enjoy them in the house. Zinnias have become our favorites to plant because they continue to bloom for so long and are easy to cut and arrange. He purchases packages of mixed colors and they can’t help but brighten each day with their bold colors.
This is the song I’ll leave you with today. My brother, Andrew, sang it on his last album. I’ve found myself singing its reassuring chorus often lately.
All is Well
By Sheryl Farris
John stood at the cross.
He could not believe his eyes,
As his Lord hung before him crucified.
Then they placed His body in a garden tomb.
John saw it all and knew that it was true.
Then Mary came unto them
And said they had removed him.
But Jesus said, “Go and tell. I am alive!”
Chorus
All is well! All is well!
The Alpha and Omega
Holds the keys to death and hell.
And that same Power that raised Jesus up
Within my heart dwells.
So I can say, “All is well!’
