He has also had his first keto meal. He gobbled it up. We told them it wouldn't be hard for him to eat it. He really does eat anything. We also told them his problem could be wanting more. Compared to what Philip normally eats, it was not very much at all. We didn't snap a picture of the meal before he ate it. We didn't think of it but we'll try to at supper. I know many of you are wondering about it. It was green beans (about 1/4 of how many Philip normally eats), ham, mayo, and whipping cream. They also provided a Mrs Dash seasoning packet, salt, pepper and Sprite Zero. I took the mayo, some whipping cream and Mrs. Dash and made ranch dressing, basically. Then I dipped everything in it, the green beans, the ham. Philip likes green beans and ham on their own but it was a good way to get it all into him easily. He seemed to enjoy it. Amazingly, he didn't ask for more. I have prayed for months for God's grace for him, knowing the diet would be way less food. Please pray with me that he will feel full with the food he is allowed to have. I have read about so many mothers who said that was the hardest part of the diet for them--their child begging to have more food.
Part of the EEG testing is a series of strobe lights flashing at different speeds. Philip has had this done twice before and never has responded to the light. Today was different. The lights definitely triggered seizures for him. We were surprised. Hopefully, though, this helps the neurologists to pinpoint and address specific issues.
The rest will only be known by waiting and watching. I know so many of you are praying. My sister, Angie, has been setting an alarm on her phone for 2 pm daily for a while to remember to pray for Philip. If you would like to join us in praying for the 2-3 miracle at some time between 2-3 pm each day this week, we think that would be great. I'll try to post more later!
Here are some pictures to enjoy!
