We are so glad that he did not go into full acidosis and get sick. We are more than glad to be going home. We want to get started on understanding this diet on our own and of course, be back with our younger two kids, as well. This is the longest we have been away from either of them and I miss them. Philip is ready to go home too. He has asked on several occasions to go bye. He's done great while in the hospital this time. We hope to achieve that 4+ for ketone levels in the next few days and see some improvement. God has already answered my prayer that he would feel full with the food he's given. This morning, with a mix up in the meal request, he waited quite a while for breakfast but was so patient and never complained to eat. Praise the Lord! It was actually incredible to watch. He's still having most of the smaller seizures but is happy. Thanks for your prayers during this hospital stay. We appreciate your continued prayers that the di
Philip did not get sick and his carbon dioxide levels which indicate acidity went back up in the safe level. Philip's ketone levels are still strong. With both of those levels in good places, we can move forward. So the nurse practicioner is putting the discharge papers in now. We'll still have a couple of hours here and then we should be on our way home. They have been so helpful here and still are as we are planning to leave. They are making all of the snacks and meals for Philip for the rest of the day. Dr. Said insists on that for her ketogenic families. That is so helpful! When you are overwhelmed with all of the new diet rules and products, it is hard to plan for the first day, especially when you are 3 hours from home. Little things will have to change like the mayo I have at home is slightly more carbs than another brand, hot dogs have to be a certain brand, etc. Plus we'll have to be very careful about those small differences since it seems he was so sensitive.
