Philip is out of school for two weeks for fall break. Most kids would be super excited for a break but Philip loves school and riding the bus, of course. He seems agitated. I'm not sure it is completely about school but it really is hard to know why we have bad days. He can't use words again so we're back to being frustrated on both sides.
This time we are not sure why his ketone levels have dropped back down. Most other times there has been a catalyst. They have been lower for the last two weeks. We've spoken with the dietician and will again this week. We are probably looking at another change in his diet.
He is still eating well and drinking is okay. He goes up and down on that right now. He'll drink a lot at one time so that's the way he's getting all his fluids in and we're fine with that.
We have a busy week at the college this week. It's Alumni Homecoming Week and there are many evening activities that go on besides the preaching services in the morning. There is some sports games-alumni vs. current students and a bonfire. We aren't able to make it to morning sessions anymore but Philip loves the other activities and they will probably make his week, especially since he isn't going to school. I enjoy the fellowship, too. We get to see so many good friends who come back to campus.
Please pray for ketosis, of course, but also pray for Philip and the frustration that seems to be shaping his days now. He is so grumpy and throws so many fits and I just don't know how to help him. So, pray for me, too. I feel helpless again, not knowing what to change or what to say or do that will make a difference.
