He is definitely not enjoying the whipping cream anymore. We have some suggestions to give variety in our ketogenic notebook from the dietician. We are going to try some things to make it easier. The whipping cream is the only thing that really doesn't have an exchange. He's still doing great drinking. We are so thankful.
He's had some positive changes this week-small, but anything positive is good. He's also had some negative. We're having a hard time figuring out these changes. Our best guess is that there is just so much changing in his body that things are changing overall. That's also why we would like to go ahead and tweak the diet ratio so we can get to a place of consistency.
He has times of alertness and times where his eyes just seem vacant. He uses many words for some parts of the day, but the other half of the day he can't seem to get any words out. He is happy and laughing sometimes and weepy or cranky at others. He does seem to have a fascination with peek-a-boo the last couple of days which is very funny. He sat in church last night (we sit in the back with him) and silently played peek-a-boo off and on. The funny thing about his peek-a-boo right now is he fully extends his arms when he pulls them away from his eyes, like he's ending a Broadway show. Then, he'll just immediately do it again, repeating over and over.
Oh, by the way, his doctor recommended we wait at least a week to send him to school, especially since it's a new school. We'll see as this week closes what we decide for next week. Ben did meet his teacher and she seems to be very capable and flexible. He will still go half days and return home for lunch and nap when he does return.
Please pray we can get the diet correctly adjusted this week and see consistent full ketosis. Pray he loves whipping cream again! :)
